We acquired the old co-op supermarket site on Dunraven Street as part of our regeneration plans for the area. We will create an exciting mixed-use space which improves the area and provides local people with a vibrant town centre location to be proud of.
Our proposals include residential apartments off Bridge Street along with a Convenience Store, Bistro and office space on Dunraven Street, which will complement our existing commercial premises on Dunraven Street which is let to Peacocks.
This is just one of three regeneration projects we have in the town centre. Most of you will have seen our new Community Hub called the Little Shed also on Dunraven Street. Thirty young people from Maes Gwyn, Ysgol Nant Gwyn and Ferndale Community School helped work on the space with Arc Training Company. The Little Shed provides a hub for ourfood parcel project, community fridges, offers health and wellbeing plus digital sessions, and a safe space for themed coffee mornings.

We are also transforming the previously arson attacked derelict property at 122-126 Dunraven Street in to 13 affordable homes which will be ready in early 2024.
We have secured planning permission for the Big Shed project and initial work has commenced with our contractors Willis Construction. Our Big Shed project team recently met with students from Ysgol Nantgwyn in Tonypandy to talk about safety and careers in the industry. Our Big Shed site manager and Willis contracts manager are former pupils of the school, so it meant a lot for them to go back and inspire the next generation.
We will keep this page updated as our regeneration work progresses.
