Peter’s career has been spent in banking – initially in commercial banking roles within NatWest and subsequently leading the Principality Building Society’s Commercial Team for almost 20 years, before standing down in 2021. In the latter role, the division played a significant part in supporting the Welsh housing agenda across a broad spectrum from SME house builders to social landlords, which fuelled Peter’s passion for the housing association sector. Through this position, and also as Chair of UK Finance, Peter has forged strong links with many of the housing industry stakeholders at both policy and strategic level. Married with two children, Peter went to a Welsh school in North Wales and is re-learning his Welsh skills.
Previously worked within the Royal Bank of Scotland Group before joining Santander in 2015. Extensive experience of finance across a wide range of sectors with a specialism around Real Estate. Jonathan has run a number of Teams and had responsibility for strategy, achieving challenging goals and people development.
Neil joined the RHA board of management in 2018. A former partner in two Welsh law firms, working as a solicitor who has been involved in the social housing sector in Wales for over 25 years. Particular expertise in the areas of housing management and anti-social behaviour and Welsh speaker.
Scott was born in Neath, studied town planning at Sheffield University and trained in London with the National Audit Office where he qualified with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. Scott has extensive experience in both private and public sectors having worked in various senior finance, audit and risk roles in Export Finance, Standard Chartered Bank, Welsh Funding Councils and Cardiff University. Scott then spent the final 8 years of his career as Vice Principal at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama where he was responsible for finance, audit, risk, HR, estates and all other professional support services.
Alison has over 20 years experience of working in the housing, care and support sector in Wales with senior management roles covering housing management, housing support and homelessness, service improvement, policy development, performance management, and quality and compliance. Alison is currently Head of Housing at Hafod Housing, and has been a RHA Board Member since January 2019. Alison has a particular interest in service improvement, customer engagement, equalities, and health and safety.
Bethan has worked in Local Government, the Public and Private sectors, supporting people with a disability to maximise their opportunities and realise their aspirations for 30 years. For the last 17 years, she has worked at Exec-Board level, leading organisations and teams to deliver high quality, person-centred services. Whilst she has primarily worked within health and social care, she has also led services within the social housing and welfare-to-work sectors. Bethan is currently Group MD for a Social Care Company, leading teams that operate Care Homes in both Wales and England. She is passionate about supporting others and has a track record in effective people leadership, performance management and of business development.
Dafydd has a breadth of experience having worked in financial services, recruitment, transport, welfare to work and business consultancy sectors. After several senior UK positions, he became a business consultant, worked across public, private and third sectors with varied commissions around the UK. His work includes strategic reviews of businesses, organisational change, business start-ups, leadership support, and operational delivery. He is an experienced board member having served 3 years on the board of a charity who worked to encourage energy efficiency and alleviate fuel poverty.
Haydn has over 25 years’ finance experience in the SME sector predominantly with NatWest having undertaken a wide variety of senior roles at regional and national level. His key responsibilities included Strategy, Innovation, Business Performance and External Partnerships. He is now running a consultancy business and commercial finance brokerage with a focus on assisting the SME market within Wales.
Gerry is an experienced Director with 35 years of experience working within the housing industry, starting in the post room and finishing as Head of Sales at Persimmon Homes. Gerry was instrumental in the set-up of Pennant Homes, part of the Coastal Housing Group.
Now, Gerry is running a successful rental business and holiday rental company. Gerry joined the Board in 2019, bringing with her a vast experience in sales, marketing, procurement and general housing.
Raelle currently works as Head of Ukraine Accommodation Policy at Welsh
Government. Prior to this Raelle was the Head of Service Delivery Contracts and
Inter-Agency Agreements at Welsh Government, working on EU Exit & Border
security. Raelle has previously worked managing temporary accommodation, private
rental sector accommodation and frontline homelessness services. As well as
managing Housing Support teams, dedicated to providing advocacy and tenancy
support for those experiencing homelessness, and acting as the strategic lead for
the dispersal of refugees through homelessness services in Cardiff. Raelle has
worked closely with the Home Office to develop and improve referral processes and
advocated for better communication with clients. Raelle is a passionate advocate for
diversity and inclusion and believes that services provided should reflect the needs
of the communities they aim to serve.
Aaron has spent over a decade working in senior policy and influencing roles across the UK, on issues ranging from housing to transport, health and education. His time in housing has included spells as Director of Policy & Membership with the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and Head of Policy & External Affairs with Community Housing Cymru, where he work with housing associations on areas including finance, development, governance and decarbonisation. He has also previously served as Chair of Public Affairs Cymru, and as a trustee for a number of local charities.
Following his graduation in 2007, Ibrar worked in an architectural practice before moving in to local government where he worked in private sector housing ensuring private landlords were offering housing fit for purpose. He then worked for a housing association where his work centred around asset management and capital works, improving the social housing stock. Ibrar is currently a Technical Manager working for the Welsh Procurement Alliance assisting public sector organisations with their decarbonisation, new build and refurbishment projects. Having spent four years of his childhood living in Penygraig, Ibrar is looking forward in contributing to RHA’s goals to provide new homes and regenerate communities.
